Maria Hadjiloizou (b.1996) is a visual artist based in Limassol, Cyprus. Her practice re-examines how contemporary images of fashion and lifestyle construct environments of desire, distance, and spectacle. Through carefully staged compositions, she creates immersive yet inaccessible spaces where the familiar is held in suspension and the lived intertwines with the projected.

Her paintings resist narrative, operating as sites of tension and silence where the image is never fully disclosed. Engaging with a contemporary notion of the sublime, she locates it within the saturation of images, the aesthetics of beauty, and the quiet dominance of spectacle. Drawing on the visual language of fashion, high-end photography, and image culture, her works invite a slower, more introspective mode of viewing.

She studied Fine Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology and holds a Diploma in Fashion Design from Pansik Fashion School in Athens, with further studies at Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion.
