Christos Hadjichristou
The Edit Gallery is pleased to present Apovathra / Power Beach, the first solo exhibition by Christos Hadjichristou. The exhibition brings together two photographic series created along the Limassol coastline: Apovathra, portraits of youngsters encountered at the historic pier, and Power Beach, focused on adult athletes training at Dasoudi Beach.
In Apovathra, the subjects meet the camera directly, creating an intimate exchange that reflects a stage of transition between adolescence and adulthood. This relationship shifts in Power Beach, where athletes are absorbed in movement, turning their gaze away from the lens toward discipline and physical control. Working with both analog and digital medium format cameras, Hadjichristou’s slow and deliberate process introduces a quiet romanticism to the images and reflects on people in moments of transition, effort, and visibility within public space.
